If you want to make a payment towards someone else’s mortgage, you can make a direct contribution. All you’ll need is the person’s mortgage account number and the name and contact information of their lender. You can make a payment online, by phone, or you can mail a check to their bank. To make an anonymous payment, first visit the County Recorder’s office to find the name of the property’s lender on its property title. Then, get a USPS money order and address it to the lender. You should be able to find their address by searching online. For more tips from our Financial co-author, including how to take over someone’s mortgage permanently, read on!
